Assessment of Some Fungicides for the Control of Powdery Mildew of Dalbergia sissoo

Abstract

Conidia of Phyllactinia dalbergiae causing powdery mildew of Dalbergia sissoo did not germinate in water. Cellulose acetate film on glass slides appeared to be suitable germinating surface and fungicide incorporated cellulose acetate film was successfully used for bio-assay of fungicides by slide spore germination technique against P. dalbergiae. Among the fungicide tested, Karathane, Topsin showed higher toxicity but in vivo test Sulfex and Karathane gave good protection against the disease.
