Abstract
Multiple shoots were obtained by culturing cotyledonery nodes of in vitro germinated seeds of Duabanga grandiflora on Murashige and Skoog’s (MS) medium supplemented with benzyladenine at range of concentrations (0.5-5.0 mg/l). Nodal segments obtained from in vitro proliferated shoots gave rise to multiple shoots on the same medium containing 2.0 mg/l benzyladenine. Subcultures resulted in rapid shoot multiplication at an average rate of 6 fold per subculture. Isolated micro shoots rooted on MS medium containing 0.1 mg/l each of 3-Indole butyric acid and 1-Naphthalene acetic acid. The regenerants were successfully transferred to pots containing soil under glass house conditions.
