Abstract
The stem cuttings of Garden rue were subjected to pre-planting treatments consisting of distilled water dipping and growth regulator such as IBA, NAA, paclobutrazol and triadimefon for overnight. Root as well as shoot parameters were recorded to find out the above said treatments on the rooting behavior. The earliest root initiation (21.65 days) as well as sprout initiation (7.10 days) were recorded in 200 ppm triadimefon whereas the rooting percentage was observed maximum (54.86%) in 10 ppm paclobutrazol. However, IBA treated cuttings at 300 ppm produced the best results with respect to the number of roots (32.38), fresh weight (21 mg), dry weight (17 mg), field survival (52.15%), number of sprouts (5.68), length of the largest sprout (6.33 cm) and number of leaves (6.75), while the longest root (8.23 cm) was recorded in 200 ppm triadimefon and the thickest root (0.55 cm) was observed in 10 ppm paclobutrazol.
