Abstract

The nursery trial of thirty poplar clones was carried out in Poplar Research Nursery, Forest Research Institute, Dehra Dun. The study was performed in a completely randomized design with 3 replications, to find the suitable clones for afforestation and agroforestry. Based on the overall performance in respect of sprouting, survival, height and diameter growth four clones have shown better performance. These all belong to P. deltoides and are ‘3294’, and ‘153’, Plantation trials of these clones are recommended.
