Abstract

Shoot proliferation was induced on shoot-tips explants taken from 1-yr-old field grown plants of Paulownia fortunei on MS medium (Murashige & Skoog, 1962) containing different concentrations of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). Shoots obtained on this medium were excised and induced to root on one-half strength MS medium containing either of the three auxins namely Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and a- Napthalene acetic acid (NAA). Plantlets so produced were transferred to earthen pots for acclimatization to in vivo environment (net house) and subsequently transplanted in the field.
