Abstract

Apis florea Fabr. has been recorded the most important visitor of Ammi majus Linn. The bee population and the time spent per flower were highest at 1100 hrs., while the number of flowers visited per minute was highest in the afternoon at 1500 hrs. The hour of the day influences the foraging behaviour of Apis florea Fabr. and the foraging bees while collecting pollen from the flowers also bring about pollination in the plant.
