Abstract

As D2H reflected lower correlation coefficient with volume compared to D2 alone : Hence D2 alone can be used as independent variable to avoid additional cost of measuring height in variable D2H and also to get more accurate estimate of the timber volume. D is diameter of tree at breast height, D2 is square of diameter at breast height and D2 H is square of diameter at breast height x height of the tree.
