Abstract

Dicranognathus nebulosus Redtenbacher (Coleoptera: Attelabidael) is a major pest of Quercus leucotrichophora in the Kumaun Himalayas. The percentage damage caused by this insect was studied in the laboratory and in the field for two years. The average percentage infestation was 51.6% in the first year and 50.3% in the second year respectively. Only a very small percentage of the weevils survive to continue the cycle because the environmental factors of resistance were high in the field.
