Abstract

No ecological study has so far been made on the reserved forest (Victoria Park) near Bhavnagar. The present investigations aim to study the composition and structure of the forest vegetation on physiological basis. Vegetation has been analysed for phytosociological characters of quantitative methods and in total 9 associations have been arrived at by an objective method of statistical computation of co-efficient of variation of density and cover and finally computing relative growth index. Growth performance in the present study is assessed in terms of the values of RGI. Acacia senegal and Prosopis juliflora constitute major part of the total forest crop.
