Abstract

Ionizing radiation affect a wide range of physiological and biochemical activity leading to various forms of physical expression of damage. Radiations mainfest their effect at each stage which was measured in terms of reduction in seed germination percentage, inhibition of seedling growth and increase in cytological aberrations. Low doses of radiations also lead to the synthesis of stress proteins and these proteins are present in considerably reduced levels in normal cells later activated by ionizing radiations.
