Abstract
Medicago sativa is a well known leguminous crop for pasturage, hay and dehydrated meal. An experiment was conducted to determine the varietal response to different pre-sowing seed treatments to their germinability at temperature 25 ± 20C and relative humidity of 85% from 15th January to 30th January, 1992. Among the 14 varieties, it was recorded that the germination of V12, V1, V2, V3, V5, V9 and V14 was enhanced by different treatments. In case of V12 hydrogen peroxide gave the highest germinability (96.66%) followed by GA 500 ppm (83.33%), whereas, in case of V1, the cold water soaking gave 80% germination.
