Abstract
Effect of exogenous application of IBA, NAA and Carbendazim to stem cuttings of juvenile and mature trees of Grewia optiva was tested to see the capacity to form adventitious roots in the mist chamber with controlled temperature and humidity. Treatments of auxins and fungicide, not only increased rooting percentage but also enhanced the root number, root length, leaf number and leaf area of the stem cuttings. IBA (250 mg/l) NAA (500 mg/l) and Carbendazim (750 mg/l) proved to be the best chemicals for rooting, the effect being more in cuttings taken from juvenile than mature mother trees.
