Abstract

Fifty fungi belonging to Aphyllophorales, collected from forests of Gujarat and Kerala, have been identified by morphological ‘field characters’, hyphal analysis and chemical reactions. Majority of the species, 34, belonged to Polyporaceae, 11 to Hymenochaetaceae, 3 to Lentinaceae, 2 to Ganodermataceae, and 1 each to Schizophyllaceae and Corticaceae. Two species are new reports to India. While eleven species had a wide host range, three were collected from a single tree.
