Abstract

In eight year old Acacia tortilis, Albizia amara and Hardwickia binata based silvopastoral systems, the representative trees were felled for estimation of fodder and fire-wood productivity. Peak production from tree component was obtained in Albizia amara (58.9 t/ha) followed by Acacia tortilis (52.1 t/ha) and Hardwickia binata (15.21 t/ha) after eight years.

Maximum contribution to total production was in the diameter classes II + III in all the species - 87.8 per cent by Acacia tortilis, 78.0 per cent by Hardwickia binata and 52.6 per cent by Albizia amara. Fodder contributed about 15.6 per cent of the total production in Hardwickia binata followed by 11.0 per cent in Albizia amara and 3.2 per cent in Acacia tortilis.
