Abstract
Rice bean (Vigna umbellata (Thunb.) Ohwi & Ghashi) assumes considerable importance as a less-known legume and has recently gained attention as a supplementary food crop having a potential for the future, NBPGR, Regional Station, Bhowali maintains a total of 384 collections (111 from over 7 countries and 273 from written the country) from different agro-climatic zones. The present paper highlights several promising types possessing desirable agro-botanical attributes suiting to the sub-Himalayan climatic requirements and in crop improvement programmes in grain legume.
